Installation
The Cognosketch Assess app can be downloaded and installed from the App store.
It is compatible with most iPad models, including iPad Pro, iPad mini, and iPad Air, running iOS version 15 or greater.
Install the app on all devices that will be used to administer assessments. A single account can be used on multiple devices to administer multiple assessments concurrently.
Settings
Internet Connection
Please ensure that you have a stable internet connection to create an account or sign into it, purchase assessment units in-app, administer assessments, and perform other account management activities. See link below for detailed account management instructions –
Note that the app does not require an internet connection in guest mode, where users can learn more about the app’s purpose and background and preview some of the core functionality.
Pairing an Apple Pencil with the iPad
To Pair an Apple Pencil with the iPad, remove the cap and plug the Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on the iPad. Tap the Pair button when presented. After an Apple Pencil is paired, it will stay paired until the iPad is restarted, airplane mode is turned on, or paired with another iPad.
In-app purchases
When using a device to administer assessments, we recommend that you either disable in-app purchases, or enable Ask-to-buy to prevent accidental purchases.
As a safety measure, the app does offer a way to explicitly enable in-app purchases when signing into the account. We recommend that you enable in-app purchases when signing in only when you need to purchase more assessments. See the next section on Account Management for details.
Display Mode
On an iPad, users can customize their viewing experience based on their preferences or environmental conditions. You have the choice to set the display mode to light, dark or auto-mode in most iPads.
Getting Started
The start screen of the app has three buttons to navigate the app as follows:
Sign In
Click this button to navigate to into account management.
Account management workflows require an internet connection. such as signing into your account, creating an account, resetting password, or closing an account.
Try It
Clicking this button allows you to preview the app in

Clicking this button will take you to a screen containing information about the background and purpose of the app.
