Our story
All children learn and develop at different rates and in unique ways.
An idea so simple is so often forgotten!
Over the past couple of years, we have been exploring the fascinating field of visual cognitive psychology in an attempt to understand early childhood development and learning. It was a moment of reckoning that a child’s visual perspective may be quite different from your own, and that it may have a significant influence on how they learn, that inspired us to embark on a journey of research and innovation.
Differences in underlying neuropsychological functions lead to variations in the way children perceive and internalize information. Sometimes, these variations may lead to learning difficulties, as educational environments do not typically adapt to each child’s ability.
Visual processing deficits are one of the easiest addressable conditions if diagnosed early. Yet for many children, these conditions go undetected, especially if the deficit is mild. Only children with severe impairments are referred for evaluation and eventually, for IEPs. A vast majority of students are never tested, and many of them struggle with reading and math as a result.
With the goal of improving VMI testing and making it easily accessible, we invented COGNOSKETCH – a Visual Cognitive Analytics platform that uses the power of digital analytics and AI to catch and correct visual processing anomalies that may be interfering with a child’s learning process.
Tracking the progression of thought as a child attempts to solve a visual problem offers fascinating insights into how a child perceives, interprets, and internalizes information. Perception and internalization is where everyone’s learning journey begins!
